"Jack Keller did not lose the fight.....he won the battle. He did not die....he became fully alive.
My most precious and beloved Jack met his Savior - Jesus tonight. He is beholding the Glory of his God....
dancing with the angels and  embracing the reality that all of the suffering was fully worth it.....
because Heaven is worth it all

Jack's Story

"When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown" - Isaiah 43:2

Jack's story isn't really a story about Jack...it is a story of the faithfulness of God.

5 years!

Written by Sarah Keller Friday, 08 July 2011 15:56

Today, Jack and I celebrated our 5th year wedding anniversary! We have the pleasure of having my mom and dad here from Montana and so they watched the boys while Jack and I went out to our favorite restaurant, Juanos, for dinner and Nichole's for dessert! While on our date we talked and reflected over these last 5 years....all that has happened to cause us to grow as individuals and as a couple. We know that we are completely different people than we were when we got married - God has changed both of us in ways that we would have never expected and blessed us with 2 amazing boys. It has been quite the journey! I am forever grateful to God for bringing Jack into my life - for allowing me to become his wife and life partner. I love you Jack with all that I am. Thank you for shepherding my heart these last 5 years and for challenging me to grow as a woman, wife and now, mom. Thank you for selflessly giving of yourself to provide and care for our family. Thank you for how you lead our family and the wonderful example of a true man that you are to our boys. I love you!!

Back to work

Jack went back to work yesterday and did awesome! He has had two wonderful days! Going back to work has done amazing things for Jack. I will let him post his own thoughts but from my perspective, going back to work has reintroduced a certain normalcy into our lives that was lacking before. God has blessed Jack with very special gifts that he is able to use at work and I am so thankful that he is using them once again. Thank you Jack for providing for me and the boys and for working so hard for us! We love you!

Birthday, Police Station & Work

Written by Sarah Keller Sunday, 26 June 2011 16:29

This week was quite the week at the Keller house! We are so proud of our oldest son, Aaron who potty trained this week! God has given Aaron such an amazing mind and he has learned so quickly. If you ask Aaron what his good news is he will tell you, "No more diapers!" Way to go Aaron!

Friday we celebrated my 27th birthday. It was such an amazing day! It was filled with lots of friends and family. The highlight of the day was getting to go out on a special date with Jack! We dropped both boys off with Nana and Papa and went out for a very nice dinner. It has been so long since Jack and I have been on a date and so it was extra special.

This afternoon we made a special trip to the West Fargo Police Department to drop off the cookies that we made this week. Aaron was so excited to go to the "police." We walked over to look at a police car and on our way back to the van a police officer pulled into the parking lot. He got out and let Aaron sit in the drivers seat and turn on the lights and siren. Aaron was so excited! He made the noise of the siren for the rest of the night! :)

Tomorrow Jack is going back to work. We are so thankful that he is strong enough to do this. He will only be returning part-time for now and will be working up to full time as he is able. It will be wonderful and hard all at the same time. We have had such precious time together as a family these last months. It will be quite the adjustment for the boys to not have daddy home all day anymore and for me as well. Please join me in praying for strength and sharpness of mind for Jack tomorrow as he goes back into the office.

Home

We arrived home last Wednesday.  We are so thankful for what a great report Jack got while in Rochester. I figured out that it was six weeks from the time Jack had his first neck surgery to the date that we found out that he had recurrent cancer. This week marks six weeks since his last surgery and he had a clear CT Scan last week! Praise the Lord! We have been encouraged that the dietary changes that we have made are making a difference and we also know that God is answering prayer.

We were very blessed to have one of Jack's best friends from Canada drive down to spend some time with us. He was only here a very short time but the time was precious. Jack was greatly encouraged and refreshed to be able to spend some good time with his buddy. We had some wonderful time with good friends on Saturday and Sunday - it was a great weekend! It felt so good to be able to laugh with friends and enjoy the beautiful weather we had over the weekend!

Jack is continuing to heal each day. He continues to struggle with stomach pain/nausea quite often and so we are making an appointment for him to be seen by a doctor here in Fargo. Both Jack and I find ourselves struggling emotionally from everything that has happened, but we are thankful to have been able to make some appointments to talk to someone about this.  Jack is excited to go back to work next week! His plan is to work half days starting on Monday!

Today is a rainy day here in Fargo and it makes us think of all those in Minot, ND who are being affected by the flood. Minot is where Jack was born and raised and so our hearts are extremely heavy as we pray for those sweet friends of ours there. Since we can't go outside, we are going to spend the rest of our morning making cookies for the West Fargo Police Department! Aaron is very excited to make cookies for the "police." :)
